The sound on my Rca tv turns off after 20 seconds of watching. I can turn the tv off, and back on, and the sound is back. Again,it cuts off the sound after about 20 seconds. I tried unplugging for awhile, and the reset from the menu, and the reset by holding down the power button while unplugged. Still did the same thing. Any thoughts??

Try to look for your settings if you have a sleep timer. You can also specify the model of your tv.

Just trying to learn as I don't know RCA TVs.
Does the sleep timer only turn off the sound but not the picture? Interesting concept if that is so.
Thanks for your answer. I will check. The picture stays on, though. If it went to sleep, wouldn't the picture turn off as well?
You just turn it off for 1 month or longer than it will work again!

Try wiggling the actual volume button on tv had the same problem did it a few times and it's been good ever since

What is the model number of the TV?
Where is the volume level slider position when the sound cuts out? If it can be shown by pressing the volume up/down that is?
Does this happen on the other different signal input types of your TV e.g. HDMI, AV, Co-Ax, whichever type that you are not using with this problem?
Does the TV have an earphone socket or the option to select external speakers to see if you lose sound from these outputs also?

Yes, it happens on all the inputs. The volume is low to medium. I will look up the model number and for an external speaker socket.
