How to fix a broken battery connector pin?
I have a MacBook Pro 17” (mid-2009, Model A1297). I have successfully replaced the battery three times in the past.
Today, as I attempted to plug in a new battery, two of the thirteen pins in the battery connector on the main logic board got bent. Though I was extremely cautious and careful in trying to bend them back straight using tiny tweezers, they both broke off.
My options don’t appear good. As I see it, I could buy a new logic board (which appear to be about $430+ on Amazon); or I could go to someplace like MicroCenter and let them fix it for a $ amount I can only imagine.
Are there any other viable options? For example, is it possible to de-solder the old battery connector off the logic board and solder on a new one (assuming one could find a replacement connector)?
Please help with any ideas.
Thanks
