How much will it cost to clean a cockroach ps4

I cleaned out most of the cockroaches that were inside but I'm not confident enough to get into the power supply

So I YouTubed how to open the system an get to the power supply . Found lots of live an dead roaches (very small ones too ) once I got into it . I blew out all the dead roaches with a air compress gun . I seen one fried roach right behind where u plug the power into once cleaned everything put back together an worked to my surprise . So just some cleaning but wouldn’t say that’s the case for everyone . Hope this helps . YouTube is ur friend

If you want to get them all out you'll have to disassemble the entire console. They will go literally everywhere inside. Then they will have babies and those babies will go everywhere the adults were to big to get to.

Sorry for the bad news, but that's the reality of it.

As far as the power supply goes, just be sure to not pull on the connector that's attached to the motherboard. You'll just want to pull on the power supply side of the connector. There's Youtube videos that show how to do it as well.

Hi @jacob_rivera ,

The power supply is not much more different or difficult to clean if you approach it properly.

First, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and the device. Then press and hold the power button on the device for 30-40 seconds to dissipate any residual power from within the device.

Next you can remove the power supply. Here is the ifixit Remplacement du bloc d'alimentation de la PS4 guide which may help.

Once you have opened the power supply unit you should be able to ascertain how much cleaning it needs.

If there are the remains of cockroaches etc, start by using a vacuum cleaner with a plastic nozzle to extract as much as you can. Be gentle when you do this. You don't want to damage any components or dislodge them from the pcb.

Use an old clean paint brush (or similar) to gently dislodge any stubborn sticking remains which can then be sucked up by the vacuum cleaner.

If you need to clean further use a Q-Tip (or some Q-Tips) moistened with IPA 90%+ (Isopropyl Alcohol - available at most pharmacies) to remove any traces left especially between any exposed component connections.

If you need to remove the pcb to check underneath it etc, take pictures of any internal cable connections that may have to be disconnected so that this can be done. It makes it easier when you have to put it back together again. Handle the board by first gripping any large component to help lift it out and then hold it by the edges.

At this stage I'm more concerned about you harming the board than the board being able to harm you. ;-)

When you are satisfied that all is as it should be put it all back together again, (check the pictures that you took earlier) make sure that any cables or components are not being "pinched" when closing it up and you should be good to go.

Good luck with the repair.

There's a brilliant get rich quick scheme. iFixit should sell roach motels in the shape of PS4s!
