Wifi adapter keeps dying

So just yesterday I went completely offline and when I checked the wifi settings, it just showed up with no wifi connections and when I hit the troubleshooter, it said there were driver issues, yet it couldn’t fix them. I downloaded and installed the drivers from the acer support website, but it just happened again this morning, is there a way to fix this for good? It’s only just started happening ever since I updated the system to that whole new windows 10 version where everything’s changed and I can’t revert it!

I’m thinking these may be helpful:

Hi @theandroidkid

Try the following:

Uninstall the WLAN adapter in Device Manager

Clear the TCP/IP stack by performing a TCP /IP reset

Restart the laptop.

Check in Device Manager that the WLAN adapter has the latest WLAN drivers installed. If not, then install them

Check if the problem is resolved.

@Cody Kost

It may be a loose antenna connection in the laptop.

if you go somewhere else and you know where the WiFi router is physically located (not easy to know this I know, unless you mean at home) try using the laptop as close as possible to the router. If there 's a good stable connection its looking like an antenna problem.

What is the make and model number of the laptop?

I just bought an Acer nitro from a pawn shop and to make a long story short, the wifi adapter (radio) is wore out. I'm waiting for them to fix it but looking at the prices on eBay, I would say just replace the card. It's about as easy replacing memory. The prices I saw were lesss than $15. I was a network administrator in my career (disabled now). I would replace the card before attempting anything with the antennas because on those gaming laptops to antennas wrap around the edge of the laptop itself and it can be a nightmare. Just my two cents. Hope it helps. Good luck
