How to replace ram

You cannot upgrade the RAM in the laptop as it is mounted onto the systemboard. You are stuck with the amount that you’ve got. The only way to upgrade the RAM is to replace the systemboard.

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. On p.56-57 Item #3 you’ll find all the various systemboards with different CPU, HDD and RAM combinations that are available for the model.

If it is running slow, first check in Task Manager > Startup to view what programs are loaded when the laptop is first started and then see if they are really necessary as they may be using system resources needlessly. Right click on the Taskbar to get to Task Manager. If you don’t know what the programs are, search online as to what they are used for.

Also if you have a 3rd party Anti Virus program installed check that Windows Defender is turned off. It should be but it doesn’t hurt to check , as you don’t want two A/V programs operating at the same time.

Have you checked that all the drivers are up to date, especially the video drivers?

You can always install a SSD to improve performance a bit. The supplier in the link is only to show what is available and how much it may cost. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better. You can see that they also say that the RAM is non-removable. On p.34 of the hardware manual you’ll find the procedure to remove/replace the HDD.
