Lines in display / black screen

Hello, my monitor is working fine until after 5-10 minutes lines appear in the display but change location and get stronger until black screen or just magically disappear. Sometimes tugging the hdmi cord helps or changing the angle of the display. Any idea what the problem could be?

What is the make and model number of the monitor?

Have you tried a different HDMI cord?

Have you tried a different input type if the monitor has one to see if it is associated with the HDMI connection somehow or the monitor?

What else have you tried?

It’s an AOC U2879VF.

I changed cables still the same problem.

I had an expert take a look at it and resolder crucial contact points. Still no luck. Three other shops just took a look at it and said the panel is broken which I don’t believe to be true because it works fine 5-10 minutes in intervals.

I tried dvi and vga but the display repeatedly just gave me the no signal message and went into standby

Lines appearing and then black screen is different to what you're now saying about no signal and going into standby or does this only happen when on DVI or vga?

Do the onscreen menus work OK when there is the no signal message?

It may be that the only way to prove whether it is the panel or the mainboard is to change one (mainboard would be easier) and check what happens.
