iPhoneSE rebooting after battery replacement

The original battery in my iPhoneSE stopped holding charges after 3+ years, and regularly showed battery empty (red) icon in the middle of the display. I got the iPhoneSE repair kit that included a new battery, but found the suction cup insufficient to pull the screen off (despite various suggestions posted on the forums). I ended up buying the iSlack device, which worked much better. Eventually, I was able to replace the battery (with difficulty in re-assembly … especially the very last step). However, when I tried to charge the phone, the phone kept rebooting with Apple logo briefly showing on the display.

hello Croy,

basically, you have just three solutions of your case:

  1. you broke something (there are couple of small things and flex tapes)
  2. your brand new battery is damaged (what quite often happens)
  3. you have little problem with gas_gauge (among other that’s tool for check battery in real time for AP)

in 1, you have to unplug everything again and check accessories one by one. If you need help with this, I will assist you. Just email me. Remember that - always start unplug battery and finish plug battery. Never ever do anything with plugged battery on.

in 2. battery needs to be checked by someone, why has a competencies for it. Every good repair shop I guess, that should be ok. Find out in your loco.

in 3. system and battery are connected by three wires: negative, positive and test (gas_gauge). Sometimes, 3-th port in a slot will not contact correctly. Mostly, enough is unplug and plug again but, if socket is damaged, replacement should be nesesery.
