Try to readjust the drain tube that leads into the drain pipe. This happened to my new washer.

The end of the washer drain tube should only be about 6 inches in the drain pipe, otherwise it will cause a siphon effect, causing the endless running water. Found this out today, myself.

I checked the drain tube, and it's only been sitting about 3 1/2 inches down into the drain pipe. I'm suspecting that the pressure switch is getting elderly. Not dead yet, because it works as it should most of the time, but elderly, because it misbehaves a time or two a week when I'm not looking, and then the water runs for the rinse cycle until I catch it--sometimes hours later-- and advance the control knob.

Check the hose connection to the water level pressure switch is tight.

The water rising in the hose creates the pressure to operate the switch to turn off the water.

Does it do this on different wash cycle types i.e. delicates as well as normal wash etc?

What is the model number of the washer?
