Phone echos very badly after repair

I can’t remember if this started before or after the screen repair I performed, but it was around that time. If I’m on speakerphone or a video chat, the other parties can hear a bad echo. Sometimes it just sounds “laggy”. Some of the troubleshooting steps I have taken include:

Factory reset

Replace charge port (has a microphone on it)

Replace loudspeaker

I have no idea what else to try. I repair phones daily and have never encountered something like this. Any and all solutions welcome. Thank you!

Hi @e_ahh ,

Don’t know the answer but have read that the Galaxy Note 9 has 8 wide field microphones, so maybe you need to recheck all the connections that were disconnected due to the screen repair.

Presumably the mics are used when in loudspeaker mode and also perhaps for noise cancellation when on a “normal” call.

What is it like when on a “normal” call which primarily uses the microphone near the charge port, you didn’t say?

Here’s a link to the service manual that may help.

If by "normal" you mean using the earpiece it works perfectly fine. No echos or any other abnormalities. And yeah I've completely stripped the phone 2 or 3 times out of boredom just to see if there would be any changes and to insure all connections are solid. No luck
