late 2012 iMac display lvds cable replacement

hello,

in preparation to service my imac late 2012 i know one needs to carefully disconnect LVDS cable tape module from the mobo while in the process of opening.

Could someone instruct how to disconnect LVDS from the display panel side in case I’d damage the cable and need to remove damaged cable from the panel? does it tab out same as the mobo side?

Also if possible if there are visible marks to note which way is correct “up” while connecting new LVDS ?

If you follow the guide here Remplacement de l'écran de l'iMac Intel 27" EMC 2546 Using the proper tools and technique you won’t encounter a problem with the display cables.

Unless you have a gorilla helping you, it would be hard to damage the cables. The real risk is damaging the display its self! Make sure not to go too deep with the tools and don’t force things as all you’ll do is damage the display.

The easiest way to help prevent inserting the cable backwards is to use a piece of tape to mark the visible side.
