I replaced hard drive with SSD in 2019 without Thermal Sensor Adapter.

I replaced hard drive with SSD in 2019 without having the Thermal Sensor Adapter. I have it now and want to know if the installation process changes for me installing it into my imac 27 2010. Do I need to reset any of the SMC or prams? Any other input welcomed.

Please rephrase your question. It sounds like you installed the new SSD into another machine and are now moving it. Did you get a runaway fan when you installed without the thermal sensor?

The 2014 models onward don’t need the in-line sensor when running High Sierra or newer which is why your newer 2019 didn't need it, but your older 2010 will.

But! You might hit a SATA speed issue as the older iMac is only SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) so the drive needs support this slower I/O. Most drives today are fixed SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) which is to fast. Some drives are auto sense, and will match to the systems SATA ports I/O speed. Review the drives spec sheet to see what it is able run at.
