My mom's Leagoo Z5 fell into some water, and how do I fix it?
It has a crack behind the phone in the top right corrner, and it can’t turn on. It is dead.

Hi,
The impurities in the water causes corrosion and provides circuit paths for the electricity which were not in the phone's operating design and could damage the components. The corrosion starts immediately and is ongoing until it is completely cleaned away
First do not try to charge or to turn on your phone and then remove the battery as soon as possible from the phone to minimize any further damage.
Then you need to dis-assemble the rest of the phone and clean all the affected parts using Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available at electronics parts stores) to remove all traces of corrosion and water. If possible do not use "rubbing alcohol" as in some cases this is only 70% IPA or less, can contain additives and is not as effective. If you do have to use it check the label to verify the amount of IPA. The higher the percentage of IPA the better
Here is a link that describes the process. Electronics Water Damage
As always with electronics, especially surface mounted pcb be gentle when handling and especially when brushing away the corrosion. You do not want to remove any components from the board. Remove the shields that may be covering some components as the water may have got in under there. The ends of any flex cables and their connectors need to be cleaned as well
Hopefully after you have done all this the phone might possibly work correctly again.
Here is a link to a teardown video that may be of some help.
If this process seems too daunting, take your phone to a reputable, professional phone repair service, experienced in liquid damage repair and ask for a quote for a repair. If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later.

Do i have to buy a new battery and screen?
Might depend on the damage.
The battery may have to be replaced as it is a bit hard to tell if they're damaged unless it is obvious (and they don't work of course).
With the screen you can only try and see what it is like after cleaning the phone thoroughly and allowing it to fully dry (although IPA 99%+ dries quickly. Just don't make the board too wet with it.
If you then turn it on but with no display but you get sounds of the phone turning on etc then hopefully all that it is just a screen problem.
Water damage is tricky because you're never sure that you got everything clean until you test it and see.
Good luck
Where do i buy those components if they need replacing?
+ the phone is dry when i posted.
Being dry doesn't mean that there is no corrosion or that the corrosion has stopped.
The systemboard needs to be checked and cleaned as described above.
Search online for leagoo z5 parts (supplier example only to show what is available and their cost) to find suppliers of the parts you want.
Has it been cleaned at all as described above?
If not it will need to be inspected and cleaned as what is necessary to remove all the corrosion if any.
After that you can think about getting parts.
With water damage unless it has been cleaned properly problems can still occur and may only show up months later. That is why it is necessary to make sure that you're satisfied that it is as clean as possible after it has been water affected, even if it is dry now
