Hello everyone, i want to repair my minitor A1267, i removed the display and checked the power supply. I noticed that the 24V are working also the Fan is working and if i am plugging the usb to my Laptop the sound was only working for about 5 seconds, also the Display is not working but USB ports are ok. What can i do? Remove the logoc Board with a new one?

I also noticed that when plugging in the Display while the Monitor is powered, the Fan stoped spinning..

If someone could help me i would be glad.

Best regards

Marcel

@marcelh18068 do you have it apart? Can you post some good pictures of the logic board with your QUESTION? Ajout d'images à une question existante

I took some pictures :)

@marcelh18068 not something you want to do "I also noticed that when plugging in the Display while the Monitor is powered, the Fan stoped spinning.." Where did you measure the 24V? Your sensors are connected? The fan spins normal?

Looking at the seven electrolytic capacitors in the power supply laying flat to the left in your image take one more picture so we can see the top ends to the cylinders.

When you had it together did you see any glow (faint) in the display when it was powered?

i uploaded some pictures. The problem is i did not check, if any glowing things are displayed..

@marcelh18068 - Thanks! Wanted to be sure your caps were OK.

This display might have had capacitor plague which often shows up with blistered tops. I don’t see that so these caps are likely clean.

The glow I was hoping you saw (or didn’t) would have aimed us to look at the displays backlight logic. Looking at the logic board I not see any burnt components in the backlight area.

At this point you’ll need to re-assemble the display putting the power supply and logic board so you can check the voltages.

@marcelh18068 there is a lot of information in your QUestion. Which is good but it can get confusing. I suggest that you start by actually testing your logic board and let us know what you find.

Below are main logic board test points that you can use to verify proper power flow. All voltages assume that the display is plugged into a power outlet, and NOT into the host computer (unless otherwise noted).

• Turn the dial of your voltmeter/multimeter to measure DC (direct current) . If your voltmeter requires that you set a voltage range, choose a DC range that includes the voltage that you are measuring.

• Connect the black probe to ground by gently inserting into any of the LCD screw posts closest to the logic board.

Keep in mind that the threading in the screw posts is fragile and can be easily destroyed.

• Touch the red probe to appropriate test point.

• Verify voltages.

I measured as u discribed and get all the values. So whats next? 😅☹️

@marcelh18068 if you are getting all the voltages etc. it is unlikely to be a board issue Unless you have a failed processor. Check the display and the wiring to rule that out.

par

Hmm but why are the speakers just working for a few seconds, that cant be a wiring problem, also i noticed a weired sound coming from the power board, when plugging in the usb cable the sound is changing. I think its coming from the spool. So maybe a powr problem? But the voltages are okey.. 😫

par

@marcelh18068 connect a USB ammeter and see what your USB port show you. See if they stay on or if they go to zero. Something on your board may just "turn off" under certain conditions. If you have a thermal camera you could check if something gets to hot etc. Are you referring to a coil whine on your power board? Does your DC in voltage remain constant? Your power board appears to have some corrosion on it. Any known liquid exposure.

par

There is no luquid exposure, i will check the usb ports with an amperemeter. Just wanted to know what part should i change the power board or the logical board, mhh not an easy question what do u think?
