Hi @rooneyonserio

Try a power refresh and check if that resolves the problem.

a). Turn off the laptop if it is on and disconnect the charger if it is connected.

b). Remove the battery from the laptop.

c). Press and hold the laptop's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

d). Reinsert the battery and connect the charger and switch on.

If it turns on with a display OK there may be a message stating that the date and time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once the D&T have been corrected the message won't appear the next time that the laptop is started.

If still no good try a full power refresh and check if that resolves the problem.

Here’s the procedure for it.

a). Disconnect the charger from the laptop if connected.

b). Remove the the main battery from the laptop.

c). Remove the RTC battery from the motherboard.

Here’s the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.29 and p.66 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the main battery and the RTC battery, repectively.

When the RTC battery is removed measure its voltage. If it is <2.6V DC replace it. The part number is 738824-001. If you search online using the part number only, you will find suppliers of the part. It looks like a commonly available CR2032 coin cell battery so check what the battery model number is that's stamped onthe battery itself. These are available at supermarkets etc.

d). Press and hold the laptop's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

e.) Reinsert the RTC battery (or its replacement). (usually it is +ve on top as marked on the battery)

f). Reverse the above steps to re-assemble the laptop.

g.) When the laptop is completely re-assembled, connect the charger and try to turn on the laptop.

If it turns on with a display OK there may be a message about the date and time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been completely reset back to its default settings. Once the date and time have been adjusted the message won’t appear the next time that the laptop is started.

If you had previously changed any user defined settings in BIOS to suit whatever specific hardware configuration that you had for the laptop, then these will have to be set again.
