A factory reset will reset the phone but it doesn't clear the password entirely.

If the phone has a Google account tied to it you still need to know the account ID and password to access the phone after a factory reset or know how to bypass the FRP lock (factory reset protection) that has been enabled in the phone by the reset to enable you to setup the phone again after the reset has been done. You only get so far into the setup procedure and no further as it asks for this information

FRP lock is a security feature in Android OS 5.1 and higher versions in case a phone was lost or stolen so that it couldn't be used again or onsold by simply resetting the phone back to its factory default condition as could be done with earlier versions of the OS

If you don't want lose your data you can use any tools for flashing or unlcock by any tool software. There are many tools you can use.

you need to Turn off the phone.

• Ensure that the battery power is full or more than 50% on the device.
• Press and hold the “Power Button and Volume Down Button” together for about 20 seconds.
• When the Oppo logo appears on the screen, release both the buttons.
• It will open a Menu page. Then select the “Language” option using the Volume up and volume down keys.
• Press the Power button to confirm the command.
• Select “Wipe Data” or “factory reset” option followed by selecting the “Yes” or the confirmation option.
• As a final step, select Option “Reboot system

The Phone will continue the master reset, taking several minutes to complete. Once done, you will see your phone is brand new. This method of removing the pin pattern or wiping the data can be done on Phone pattern unlock without pc—no need to connect additional devices.
