Logicboard inter-model year compatibility?

I wonder if It would work, to put a Logicboard from a 2018 MBP into a 2016 MBP. Is there any general rule of Logic-Board inter-compatibility between model years?

My biggest concern so far is the pairing to the T2-Chip.

Background: I have multiple 13"-MacBook-pros. All with Touchbar and 4 USB-C/TB-Ports, but they come from different years (2016 to 2018) and some have hardware issues or just look very worn. Thus I would like to transplant Logic-Boards from worn/defective Macbooks into other less worn and well working MacBook bodies.

Sorry, it’s not so simple!

The 2016 and 2017 share common heritage, Apple did enough tweaking in the follow up designs to prevent using 2018 and newer. While not definitive here’s how one can often see what is compatible across. Look at EveryMac - MacBook Pro list so for an example we can see the Late 2013 and 2014 share the same base Model ID MacBookPro11.x where x is the sub version

Apple didn’t like it we figured out their system and from 2016 onward we don’t have a clean means to tell what is interchangeable here we need to depend on parts houses to give us a clue! Often they make look the same but are not signal compatible! This gets into TrueTone in this case.
