No Display but since connects to external monitor has light on display

I was working on a logic board that doesn't display anything on the screen, but it works fine with an external monitor. I also noticed that there is backlight on the screen when it's connected to an external display, but there's no image on the screen itself. Can you please help me identify the issue? Additionally, I have confirmed that there is 5V for the image.

So to be clear, in a dimmed room you can see the glow from the display so we know the backlight is working and you do see a clean image on the externally connected display via a mDP cable to the HDMI or DP eternal display.

If that is correct the internal displays T-CON board and/or the LCD display panel is bad. In either case you’ll need a new display assembly. I checked it with many Display none of them works. There is issue on logic board.

@armin1 - Did you use the correct display? The older Late 2013 and 2014 displays are not pin compatible with this series which I suspect is what you had tried. Otherwise the logic board connector is damaged and will need replacement.

par

No my friend , I used exactly for 2015. I'm sure.

@armin1 - let’s get some tight pictures of the display connector both the logic board and the cable end so we can see the contacts.

@armin1 just out of curiosity, what happened here? Looks like some solder balls that are not connecting much but appear to create a short circuit. You did not tell us what 820-xxxxx your board is or where this IC is located. Take another picture but zoom out so we can see the location in relation to the rest of the board.

Update (09/24/23)

@armin1 no worries. All we care about is seeing things that are of interest. These pictures are good. Has this computer ever had any water damage or any rework done? The IC looks like it is not properly connected. It appears that some of the legs are no longer connected. etc.

The IC itself is a ISL62882CHRTZ ISL 62882C HRTZ QFN 40pin PWM

That particular IC is your GPU Vcore PWM IC. It is what supplies the power to your GPU. Your issues will be based on this IC. Here is the schematic for this particular IC.

Replacing it should restore your video.

I know that it is dirty but I don't think it is the problem because with external monitor works fine.

This is the model 820-3787-A

@armin1 I am not saying it is the problem. It is not dirty and that is not what I am referring too. I am referring to those solder balls that are conductive and it looks like they are shortening out between those pins. Post some picture of where on the board this IC is. Let's find out what it does so that you do not have any issues later.

Sorry @oldturkey03 I put the wrong pictures before but I corrected them now.

But anyway I found them ugly!!
