CDs have loading delay!?

The game starts, I have only tried DVD. The game runs but it doesn’t load the whole game completely. I could be playing a racing game and out of nowhere the track can be missing, music stops playing and sound effects are repetitive. Like having trouble reading it. My assumption is the laser is going bad but I just want an insight if anyone had this issue.
