Hi Aidan,

Starting with the iPhone 11, Apple started pairing the screen to the logic board for no good reason other than to make repairs to the most commonly damaged part on the entire phone harder for non-Apple repair personnel.

The touch module IC, the chip @tech_ni was talking about, is where that information is stored, so moving it from the original display to a replacement screen will make the phone think it still has the right screen so the non-genuine warning won't appear. Of course that's a repair that requires quite a bit of expertise in microsoldering and a certain amount of specialized equipment, so it's not something us home DIY-ers are equipped to tackle. I consider myself very tech savvy but that's one I consider beyond my skill set.

Outside of paying Apple for a screen replacement, that's the only way to get rid of it. Unfortunately, iPhone 11's aren't eligible for the self repair program either, so those are your only two choices other than just living with the warning.

To elaborate on what daniel was saying, the device programmer you're using is only good for transferring a piece of data called the MtSN from the original screen to the replacement, which then allows True Tone to function. The parts pairing that causes the non-genuine warning is an entirely separate issue; the two aren't related at all, and the device programmer can't help with the proprietary encryption algorithm Apple uses to pair the screen.
