Review this guide Remplacement du SSD Blade de l'iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display 2019 given how much work it takes we don’t recommend using M.2 Blade SSDs as the adapters are not that stable. You really want to use a pin compatible drive like OWC or Transcend.

The OWC ssd’s are no where near the speed of the Western Digital ones. The Transcend ones have the speed of the WD’s but the ones I found have the same pin configuration as the WD. Do you know if they make one?

Thank you

@bobtaylor95631 - I find that hard to believe it’s that much. There’s a lot misinformation on throughput testing within Macs. Don’t be so over focused on I/O speed. If that is your concern then you are going down the wrong path! As an example I do some ultra large images for backdrops and museum displays. In order to load and manipulate I need both large and fast storage. To achieve that I use an external RAID drive set using M.2 SSDs. And my boot drive is a 2TB OWC drive in my 2013 Mac Pro.

So as for Transcend review their site here Transcend they don’t publish iMac support but their SSDs work without issue.
