Hi @markangcos
You can't just interchange 30 pin LCD screens and 40 pin LCD screens that easily.
The panel's operating specifications e.g. LCD panel's operating voltage (Vcc) value, backlight enable voltage signal value, LED power requirements and LVDS cable wiring pinout connections were chosen as these will work with the motherboard that the panel was originally connected to.
If you wish to check what these are, search online for (insert make and model LCD panel¹) datasheet for both LCD panels, to hopefully find them.
If you do find them, then they will have the specifications for the panels so that you can compare if they are the same or not.
If their operating specifications aren't the same, then it won't work and if you try anyway you may end up damaging the LCD panel, the motherboard or both.
If it is only the wiring pinout connections that are different you may be able to adapt the cable so that LCD panel pinout matches the LVDS connector pinout on the motherobard that it is going to connect with.
¹ Usually the make and model number of the LCD panel can be found on the back of the panel itself somewhere.
