when I unplug the cord from the tablet it turns right off

This is my problem i have the cord to plug the thing in to dowload stuff and it is turning right on.But when i unplug the cord from the tablet it turns right off

Have you tried replacing the batteries in the tablet?

See p.4 of the user manual
