Damaged housing/hinge killed airport, how to fix?

Housing behind screen was damaged at left hinge--when I was on crutches with broken foot, computer case strap slipped off my shoulder and computer landed on its left rear corner. Ports are out of square but still work. Over a few months the left hinge loosened up, and airport stopped working. An Apple repair shop fellow fixed it by super gluing the airport connection instead of welding it, and tightened up the hinge, and said to come back and pay for a repair weld when it loosens up again. (Apple nicely paid for the first repair under Applecare warranty). But the Airport lasted only 3 months until hinge loosened up again and probably super glue has failed. Repair guy had said to fix it right would be $800 to replace the entire top unit, but the screen works fine. My only problem is non-working airport. Can I get an external airport to plug-in and bypass the internal airport? Or is the only reasonable solution to get a replacement housing with working hinge somewhere?

Yes

- you can use a USB external wireless adaptor. Here's one that seems to have good reviews (FWIW I have no personal knowledge of that unit or any other... only that it's possible to remove your internal wireless {airport} service from the System Preferences->Network list and add the new service)
