Hi @stevenkamw50455

Try a full power refresh in case the BIOS has become corrupted and is preventing a normal start i.e the laptop is not passing POST (Power On Self Test)

Here’s the procedure:

a). Disconnect the charger if connected and then remove the main battery from the laptop

b). Disassemble the laptop and disconnect the RTC coin cell battery from the motherboard.

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.55 to see how to remove the main battery and p.103 to view the procedure to remove the RTC coin cell battery from the motherboard. Unfortunately you will have to completely disassemble the laptop to access it. When the RTC battery battery is removed from the laptop, use a DMM (voltmeter function) to measure the battery’s voltage. If it is <2.6V DC or >4-5 years old, replace it. Search online for 683502-001 to find suppliers that suit you best.

c). Reconnect the RTC battery (or replacement battery) and then reassemble the laptop.

d). Reinsert the main battery and connect the charger and turn on the laptop and check if it starts OK.

e). If it starts OK there may be a message on the screen about the date and time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once the date and time have been corrected, the message won’t appear the next time that the laptop is started.
