MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 MagSafe DC-In Board Replacement

2 heures

Difficult

Mon problème

My MacBook wasn't charging right, so I cleaned the MagSafe connector, which revealed that the plastic surrounding the copper terminals was chipping off of the ends, exposing more of the copper. The computer still worked while the charger was connected, but I didn't get any type of charging light. I assumed that it wasn't the battery due to the visual inspection of the MagSafe connector on the computer.

Ma solution

Definitely not the easiest project but was still manageable.

Mon conseil

Make sure all of the connectors are out of the way when you're putting the logic board back in. Also, the first time I booted up after the repair, my keyboard didn't work. A quick google search saved the day. The keyboard ribbon is very difficult to get back in, so use a piece of tape (I used duct tape) to grab ahold of the ribbon and help you push it back in!
