Macbook (white) 2009 fan replacement

Mon problème

The fan in my 2009 Macbook broke down; we went to iCentre here in The Netherlands who claimed the main board broke down; yes, for EUR 1100,- we could replace it. AND .. they had a nice action right that moment for a new Macbook Pro blah blah blah…

Ofcourse we did not go for their stories and went home with our Macbook.

Ma solution

Once home we ordered a new fan at iFixit USA and waited quite some tim before arrival!

Following instructions found at iFixit we opened the Macbook carefully, we put aside the screws in special order and replaced the fan inside!!

Re-assembled the Macbook in reverse order and voila!

Mon conseil

The Macbook works flawlessly again; it can be used for many years!!

Advice; don't believe your nearest reseller when they claim the main board broke down, or your laptop / Mac needs replacement!

iFixit has very good, explanatory video's of how to take apart your model of Apple laptop / desktop!

Do like we did and save yourself lots of money!!!

We're happy campers again!!!
