Background
Marshall announced the Emberton III on August 19, 2024 alongside the Willen II, with global release on August 26, 2024. It is the third generation of the Emberton line, following the 2020 original and the 2022 Emberton II.
Year-over-year upgrades focus on connectivity and tuning. The Bluetooth module moves to 5.3 with LE Audio readiness; Auracast broadcast/audio-sharing support arrived via an over-the-air firmware update through the Marshall Bluetooth app, replacing Stack Mode. A built-in microphone adds speakerphone capability, which the Emberton II lacked. True Stereophonic 360° sound returns, driven by midrange drivers with 38 W Class D amplification and dual passive radiators. It's now supplemented by Dynamic Loudness, which adjusts tonal balance as volume changes. Battery life rises to 32+ hours and the IP67 rating carries over. Charging remains USB-C only, with no aux input. A strap allows attachment to bags or tents.
The Emberton III retails for $179.99 and is available in Black & Brass, Black & Silver, Cream, Midnight Blue, Sage, or Vintage Black.
Identification
The Emberton III keeps the series' miniature-guitar-amp design: silicone-wrapped rounded rectangular body, dual metal grilles, embossed Marshall script, and a brass multidirectional control knob on top. Weight is about 670 g in the same footprint as the Emberton II, so distinguish it by the microphone opening or the Bluetooth version (5.3/LE Audio) reported in the Marshall app. The Marshall part number is printed on the regulatory label.
