Réponse à : « Battery not charging, not detected in OS. »There may have been a static discharge if it wasn’t grounded properly, which could lead to a slew of issues. Try to see if the dc magnetic safe inboard has gone bad. When I replaced my battery, I had a similar issue. Hope this helps! Let me know if it fixed it or not.
Réponse à : « My 88 Sierra SLX »Will, Those XMSNs won’t swap. The ‘88 Sierra uses a THM400 and the Yukon uses a 4L60-E. Although the bolt pattern maybe the same, the wiring harness won’t match up and the XMSN won’t shift properly. I’d find a reputable shop that can rebuild your THM400 or clear off a spot on your bench to do it yourself. XMSN rebuilds can be tricky, however it would be a great time to add in a shift kit. Here’s a resource for the reference: https://www.transtar1.com/transmission-lookup Good luck!
Réponse à : « Not having enough power »Not really much of an answer, however most Sierra's and Silverados have an issue with the XMSN "popping" or slipping from 1st to 2nd gear. Last I checked there was not a recall for the XMSN's for that model year. As far as the ABS lights, check to see if you can get the OBD scanned and reset the codes (any auto part store does that for free) and drive for a few days to see if it will come on. The mileage could be due to your rear axel ratio. If you have a truck with a 4.10 ratio, it'll feel more sluggish that a normal gear ratio of 3.73. Copy you VIN down and have the local dealership run it for you. They should be able to get you a list of the standard options that the truck had from the factory. Otherwise, the prior owner may have put in a 4.10 axel for haul/towing/pulling. Hope that helps!
Réponse à : « Suggestions for upgrading parts on a Dell Inspiron 530s »This may seem a little odd answering my own question, but here is the bottom line. It was not worth upgrading the Dell Inspiron 530s. I really leaned heavy on irish420311 suggestion on replacing the HHD for a SSD and adding RAM. I believe that this would have held up for awhile and worked just fine. However, after much research of upgrading vs buying a new PC. I found a third option of building a PC, which in the end is what I chose. I believe that building my own PC will prove to be something I can continually upgrade and repair without having to buy a whole new PC every so often. Therefore keeping up with the essence of reducing electronic waste and repairing what I have over the long run. Also, if you have an old PC that you want to rid yourself of, instead of pitching it to the curb or selling it. Consider donating it to your local high school or vocational college for another generation to learn on!
