Electronics is my career and hobby!
I am and Electrical Engineer by trade. Decided to study my M.S. in Biomedical Engineering which I recently completed. Now pursuing my PhD for fun.
How did I get into the repair business?
One of my friends broke her iPhone and decided to give it a shot. I loved the experience and kept doing it on the side while going to school. I asked her to keep the screens that came in the toolkit instead of money... haha
A few months later I opened my first shop in Memphis, TN and it has been a very fun experience. This was in 2012 so I have been in the industry for a little while now. I am very experienced with refurbishing and micro soldering, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
STS Repair has recently opened its Board Repair Services (Mail-ins).

Réponse à : « How to put a screw hole back after long screw damage »You can solder it back on. Just place it and sit your soldering iron on top of the socket, it will heat enough to solder itself back on.
Réponse à : « Broke the lightning connector - parts stuck in logicboard »It seems like corrosion made those connectors stick. You have to replace that connector and inspect around logic board to make sure there is no more damage on the logic board. If you are not a micro solderer id recommend finding a shop who can help!
Réponse à : « Side Clips Not Holding on Replacement Screen »Start by the top clips on the screen. Make sure they go into the frame. Then you do the sides and make sure they go in. If they are not easily going in and the frame is not bent you can help sliding a knife looking tool to help those clips to slide into place. Lastly, do the bottom. Triple check for bent frame, otherwise you will be breaking that screen!
Réponse à : « Need Replacement Coax Wifi Connector - Any place to buy? »Sometimes if you cant find in a marketplace you can buy a "dead" motherboard. I usually keep some to be donor boards.
Réponse à : « How much does a new screen cost »It depends where you buy, however I'd say around $150 for the part.
Réponse à : « Why is this happening? »Have you tried reset all settings?
Réponse à : « White lines on screen »Jack, This could have happened due to the phone being dropped as well. If no repairs were performed a drop could cause the flex cables to lose contact with the LCD contact glass causing the glitch you describe. You have to replace the screen in this case for a successful repair!
Réponse à : « New battery doesn't work »It seems like you might have received a faulty battery. I would try another one!!
Réponse à : « Charge port not working »You would be looking at the Tristar IC. Let me know if you need help!
Réponse à : « iPhone is on but no screen »Hey there! haha Thanks Mayer, we all learn things everyday. Savas, you can either have a no backlight issue or a not image issue. It sounds like no backlight is the issue even though you say shining a light doesn't help. It is hard sometimes to see image, usually when you are turning on the phone and the apple logo is shown the best time to identify backlight issue. If it is a non image issue most likely there are small square components on top of the LCD connector that could be knocked off easily. However backlight circuit can be affected when working on a phone with a plugged battery, so make sure to ALWAYS disconnect the battery first! I can look at it if you want to mail it in ;)
