A super closeup photo of these notches would very helpful.
Excellentguide as usual, but not sure the anntena cables should have be replaced in their housings before the Airport/ Bluetooth bracket was secured. Was there a reason I missed.
How come the antenna connectors are installed before the Airport / Bluetooth bracket has been secured ?
Hi Andrew, relating to my earlier question regarding a possible mistake in step 5, I never found the so called small piece of hard plastic that prevents the connector from falling out so removed said connector by lifting and then pulling towards the optical drive.Could this have resulted in damage to the connectors? is so what do I need to replace? Your advice and expertise would be much appreciated. Regards.
A real closeup photo of this small piece of hard plastic that prevents the connector from falling out would be a great help. !
Hi Andrew, I managed to do this stage to remove a stuck disc after all the Apple suggestions failed and found it straight forward and interesting. However after reinstalling everything back in place and powering up I found everything working as before with the exception of the WiFi/Bluetooth and possibly the camera, although I haven't tested that yet. Due to enlarging the screen on my IPad to view stage 5 in greater detail, the written word on the right Was off screen so I missed the part regarding the small clear plastic cable retainer and also the part about aligning the connector . Is it possible this could have a bearing on my lack of wifi and Bluetooth? I notice in some other comments that people have broken this small clear plastic retainer and although I didn't see anything laying on the logic board would that last be relevant to the missing hardware? Regards Peter
Which of the four ribbon connectors relates or controls the WiFi Bluetooth and Camera ?
This is the stage (5) that concerns me with my lack of wifi and Bluetooth. I enlarged the iPad screen to max so I could view the clear plastic cable retainer. Leaving the screen on max I missed the part that said,"pull the camer cable connector towards the Optical drive to disconnect from the logic board" makes me wonder if that caused the problem,as I lifted it away from the logic board? Any I found it very difficult to align the connector with its socket. Any thoughts please.
Hi Andrew, could my missing wifi and Bluetooth be a result of a possible mistake I might have made when removing the optical drive to remove a stuck disc. Looking at the camera cable removal and replacement in step 5 in particular?
