Dan, Why do you say it might need a logic board too? *How can one tell if it's just the display or logic board issues too?* Here's a picture of the display issue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/23e5y4ijz440cu...-12-26%20at%2012.41.40%20PM.jpg?dl=0 There are several small cracks in the lower left corner of the screen but the display issues are not right where those cracks are. GREAT help from you! Sorry your arthritis prevents you from fiddling. Thanks all around!
I agree with the last comment. But I would prefer loosening the center battery and lifting it up to guide the trackpad cable easily. This also makes it easier to reinsert it into the connector during reassembly.
Because it is attached to the battery with a tiny bit of tape near where the spudger is in the picture, this cable should probably be loosened. But it is NOT necessary to remove the speaker entirely.
My machine has the silver screw where the red circle/6.8mm is in this diagram. I switched them to match this picture.

Please put an arrow on the picture of the bottom to show where the clips are. NOT clear. The black gizmos in the middle??

NOT truly necessary to remove either speaker.

This step is NOT really necessary. The trackpad can be removed with this cable still in place.
