check for shorting on plug? is it an OEM plug? pin alignment proper? an OEM charger? what were the symptoms before it went dark? check for heat damage from the possible shorting at the plug and the board, if it has gotten that hot it may have re-soldered its own connections together- check for any abnormal solder flow anywhere near the heat source. is the pwr button stuck in the depressed pos? these are just off the top of the ole noggen, good luck. and remember to use your heat-sinks.
Plus d'informationthis happened affter a software update from the carrier? strange. have you traveled outside of your coverage area recently?(ie "roaming") if so,have you tried shutting it off, re-powering it again? sometimes after leaving the home area you have to re-register the phone to the home carrier. it shouldnt affect the operation of the phone. if it is working fine i wouldnt worry about it. however if it still bothers you as to missing the "verizon" logo in the corner, then it really is something that the carrier should be contacted for.
Plus d'informationmy guess is the battery still has some residual moisture in it. try drying it out (again) rice, blowdryer set to medium, or any of the many listed drying methods listed on this site. sometimes when the batt gets wet and shorts out(due to water making cross contact) it pretty much kills it. I have seen a build-up of corrosion in the internals that has caused many a heat up headache.if you have had it open make sure to clean the contacts and check for crud(that's a technical term) around where you plug it in to charge. you can try a few complete drain to zero and full recharge cycles and if that doesn't work and replace it. however any phone the takes a swim- if it does make it back to the working world once again,is usually on borrowed time- not all but most. make sure that you back up all data on it (contacts, picts).
Plus d'informationcheck for corrosion in the socket of the lights in question. if so a little wd-40 and a wire brush will do it. check the fuses as well. also ive seen the wires get knocked off the back of the socket from overloading the trunk. check for anything loose or missing by comparing the two sides(lft lights vs. rght). last but not least did you put the correct bulbs in when you replaced them? hope any of this helps.
Plus d'informationq: what happened to it before it shut off? Q:was it dropped? is the casing cracked in such a way as to the battery not making contact internally? do you have another phone like it that you can swap the battery and or charger on? if not, do you have a way to see if the battery is getting charged or is charged at all? such as a meter or test light? Update: if your batt is charged and you tried swapping it for another one(and your battery works on the other phone) AND its still not working.... check the battery connectors (on the phone) make sure they are not broken or corroded. check the pins in the plug where the charger plugs in- make sure they are not shorted(touching or bent).
Plus d'informationof course check all grounding points. then try bypassing the remote power cable. stupid question but does her radio support a sub amp or are you just running speaker signal to the sub assembly?
Plus d'informationsometimes thermostats are f'd up from factory . you can check it by taking it out and putting it in a pot of hot water on the stove. if it opens then its probably good. also you have to make sure that it is going in the right direction with the spring side facing into the block. also flushing out the radiator is good but did you check if you were getting flow through to begin with? also a lower temp thermostat will do the trick sometimes, as it will open sooner and let the coolant through- thus keeping it cooler. however, if you live in a cold climate you would have to change out the 'stat seasonally.
Plus d'informationnot sure about hummers but usually the belt routing is on a decal under the hood near the radiator. also in the owners manual that comes in the glovebox..
Plus d'informationcan you hear if the drive is spinning them up once you put them in? i am assuming that you are manually opening the drive (i.e. small hole pin method). if not then i would think its the ribbon cable because you say you already replaced the drive.
Plus d'informationyes the cones do dry out and crack after awhile. if you are not into taking them apart and finding suitable replacements(sometimes better ones can be found) and soldering them back in and reassembling them its better to just replace all together. however if you do take them apart and dont feel like chasing them down on amazon or wherever, often radio shack has pretty decient replacements. ALSO you can also see their line of computer speakers there and weigh out your options...
