ASUS U52F-BBG6 Troubleshooting

Computer Won’t Boot

Your computer won’t turn on or is having problems booting up correctly.

Battery Issues

If your computer turns off when you unplug it or soon after, and will not turn back on, then your battery is probably dead and you need to replace your battery. To access the battery flip the laptop over to the back and access the battery pack near the hinge by pushing down small latches to release the battery.

Power Adapter Problems

Make sure the LED light on the adapter is on when plugged. Check if the plugs aren’t bent and that all cords are plugged in on both ends. Verify that the plug is connected to the ac adapter (box on the cord). To ensure the adapter is dead, use a replaceable adapter to test it.

Unresponsive Power Button

If all else fails, reboot the laptop by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. If the power button breaks, visit our guide on how to replace an unresponsive key.

Keys Are Unresponsive

Your keys are not letting you type.

Dirt/Dust Under Keys

Gently shake the laptop at a 75-degree angle or use a compressed air duster can to get the crumbs out of your keyboard. If that doesn’t work, swab the broken keys with rubbing alcohol or a little warm soapy water to prevent the keys from stickiness.

Weak Internet Connection

Your laptop will not connect to the internet and you don’t know why!

Internal Internet Connection

Look at the internet connection on the computer to make sure it is turned on. If the internet connection is turned off, turn it on to the correct network. Check the router if the internet connection is on and you are still not connected to the internet.

Router Problems

Go to the router to check that it is on by going to either the bottom right corner to see how strong the connection is (ex: weak, moderate, strong). If the router is on but not connected to the device restart the router. Call your internet provider and explain the situation for further information.

Screen Glitches

Your computer screen went black or blue and won’t respond.

Unresponsive Screen

If your screen isn't responding as quickly as usual, try turning off your laptop. Since you can't shut down automatically, you will have to do it manually by pressing and holding down your power button, located in the upper right hand corner. Then, wait for about 30 seconds before turn it back on by pressing and holding down the power button again.

Updating Your System

Many applications have known to cause screen flickers when they need to be updated, Make sure your applications and display are updated. Some applications will automatically ask you to update their program (ex: Adobe Flash-drive), but for some you must do it manually. You can go to our Additional Information page to seek further assistance.

Cracked Screen

Examine to see if there are any cracks on your screen, if so you may need to replace it. We do not recommend replacing the screen without the proper tools and guide. If you need assistance with replacing a new screen, try our Screen Replacement Guide.

Camera Issues

"Your camera isn't working and you don't know why!"

Cracked Lens

If your camera isn't working or you can't see the image, it could be because your camera lens is cracked. To do this you will need to take apart your screen, but don't worry, just take a look at our Camera Replacement guide!

Poor Wire Connection

If your camera is not connecting well with your computer, it could be the wiring connection. You may have to repair or replace your camera wire. Again, to do this you will have to take apart your screen to get to the camera. Don't worry, look at our Camera Replacement guide to see how you can get to the wire!

What do you do about a pink and green screen. I sent it to be repaired under warranty and it came back with the same problem.

What do you do when your laptop appears to be booting to the "white screen of death" only to find out the screen isn't working. Plugging in a second monitor allows access to the laptop.
