Asus MeMo Pad 10 ME102A Troubleshooting

The screen remains off no matter what I do.

The tablet may not turn on because the battery is dead. Charge the battery by using a micro USB cable and the charger that came with the device.

If the battery does not begin to charge after the device is plugged in, then it is possible that the battery is dead. If the battery is dead, then it can be replaced. Please refer to the Battery Replacement Guide.

Another possible reason for the battery failing to charge is a damaged Micro USB port. If the Micro USB port is damaged this could cause the device to charge briefly, then stop charging, or only charge when the plug is inserted at just the right angle.

The camera fails to take pictures, or takes pictures with obvious flaws.

If the pictures taken show large cracks, optical distortions such as blurring, or spider-web patterns the lens may be damaged. First, attempt to clean the camera with an appropriate lens-cleaning cloth. If this does not fix the issue it is possible the camera needs to be replaced. Please refer to the Camera Replacement Guide.

If the camera lens is not damaged or the camera fails to take pictures please restart the device. If this fails to correct the problem, attempt a complete factory restore to defaults. This will remove all data. If this fails, or you want a chance to preserve your data, then it is possible the camera needs to be replaced. Please refer to the Camera Replacement Guide.

The screen is cracked, damaged, or unresponsive

If the touchscreen is still responsive then it is possible only the glass needs to be replaced.

If the touchscreen is unresponsive then it is possible there is a deeper hardware malfunction.

The screen is dim or difficult to see

This could possibly be due to a multitude of issues including a software bug, a broken display, a failing battery, or a broken Micro USB port. Possible solutions to software bugs include restarting the device, and restoring the device. Restoring the device will cause a complete wipe of all data. If these fail, please refer to the Battery Replacement Guide

When the SD card is inserted the tablet cannot access the data

Possible solutions include restarting the device, and restoring the device. Restoring the device to factory defaults will wipe all data.

If the restoration fails to fix the issue then the SD card slot may be damaged or broken.

Sound quality is poor, filled with static, or absent

If the device fails to play sounds, or if the sounds are filled with static or otherwise distorted then it is possible this could be fixed by replacing the speakers. Please refer to the Speaker Replacement Guide.

The Back Panel of the device is damaged and needs to be replaced

If the Back Panel has been physically damaged to where the internals of the device are at risk then replacement could possibly offer a solution. Please refer to the Back Panel Replacement Guide.

The motherboard appears to have been damaged or broken

If there is physical damage to the motherboard, or if you believe the motherboard needs to be replaced then please refer to the Motherboard Replacement Guide.
