The device is overheating.
Phone is overheated.
Hold phone or place phone on a cool surface. Turn on airplane mode, turn off all nonessential applications, and let phone rest for five minutes. Next, turn off airplane mode and check if the device has cooled. If the device has not cooled, turn on airplane mode for another five minutes, and repeat if necessary.
Checking the Source
When examining the process of overheating, check certain areas of the phone to determine the source of overheating. First, check the backside of the device where the battery would be located. If a large amount of heat is being generated from this point, place the phone on a cool surface and power off the device. Second, check the screen, if an abnormal amount of heat is being generated, turn down the devices brightness and let the phone rest for 5 minutes. Lastly check the charging port, if heat is being generated from here, unplug the phone from the charger and go through the steps in the charging port guide to check for malalignment of the port.
Battery fails to charge
The phone battery will not charge.
Remove the battery from the phone to allow for cooling. Once the battery is cool, put the battery back into the phone. Once the battery is in the phone, attempt again to charge the battery [link to replace the device battery].
Faulty charger or outlet
Attempt to use a different charger or electric outlet. If using another charger or outlet works, replace the original charger.
Corroded charging port
With a flashlight check for signs of corrosion around the charging port. If anything is bent inside the phone, there is corrosion.
Your phone screens fails to respond to touch or when home touch pad is pressed.
Dirty touch pad
If your phone fails to respond to the home touch pad, you may need to clean it. To clean the home touch pad, first completely turn the phone off. Next, use a glass cleaning device to gently clean the phone. Turn the phone on and check to see if the touch pad is working. If unsuccessful, repeat all steps once more.
Malfunctioning Charging Port
The phone will not charge due to a malfunctioning charging port.
Corroded charging port
Corrosion often causes the charger and the charging port to be unable to connect. To check for corrosion, use a flashlight to look into the port. If the metals inside the port do not appear to be clean, or if they appear to be covered in green or white, the port is likely corroded. To rid the port of corrosion, spray compressed air into the port. One to three sprays should suffice depending on the amount of corrosion. Once you have sprayed the port, you can attempt to charge the phone again. If the phone continues to resist charging, repeat the steps once more. Finally, if the phone still does not charge, you may need to check for water damage.

Blocked charging port
The charging port of a phone can be quite small and hard to see into. Often times there could dirt or lent blocking the charging port but you simply cannot see it. Use a flashlight to look into the port. If you see anything in the port that does not appear to be corrosion or the phone’s material, use a pointy object such as pencil lead or a needle to remove the foreign object. Once you have done this you can try to charge the phone again.
If there does not appear to be any corrosion, debris, or water damage in the charging port, perhaps the charging port simply cannot recognize the charger. Use several different charges and outlets to test the charging port. If nothing works, you might need to view the replacement guides we have made available.
Disconnected SIM Card
Your phone fails to recognize that the SIM cards has been inserted or disconnects from the SIM cards during use. Here is a step by step guide to help you reconnect your SIM cards.
SIM card is misaligned:
Open the SIM/SSD slot on the side of the phone with a tack or earring back. Make sure the SIM card is properly placed in the SIM slot.
Disconnected SIM card
Restart the phone by powering it off and turning it back on. If the SIM cards are still disconnected, power down the phone, remove the SIM cards, replace the SIM cards into the same slot it was removed from, and power the phone back on. If the previous first steps do not work, power off the phone again, remove the SIM cards and put them into the opposite slots they were removed from. For example, SIM card one should be moved to slot two and SIM card two should be moved to slot one. Lastly, if there has been no progress in reconnecting the SIM cards to the cellular device, locate the “Settings” application, in Settings you will find the “Backup and Reset” folder. Once you have found the backup and Reset folder, locate the “Factory Data Reset” and click it. Next, reset the phone and erase everything. Finally, once the phone has reset it will notify you that a new SIM card has been detected. Click change > data connection > your SIM card name.
