Shutting down without warning

Your laptop shuts off in the middle of an important task constantly.

Battery is not charging properly

The battery may be faulty and will need to be replaced.

A replacement of the power adapter port may be necessary due to the power connection between the charger and the battery.

Too much memory

One of your programs may be using too much memory and causing your computer to shut off.

Too much Cloud dust

There may be cloud dust in the back of the air vent. Replacing the fan and/or the heat sink may be required

Black screen

Your screen will not show anything at times.

Faulty Blacklight

You may need to buy or replace a new backlight.

Run diagnostic tool to check hardware on the computer

Your hardware could have issues you are unaware of; you can run a diagnostic test to check for problems.

Light indicators on without input

All of the lights are on and working on your computer — except the screen.

Faulty Memory Modules

Restart the memory modules, if they do not work after being restarted it is most likely a mainboard issue.

Faulty Mainboard

If this is the problem you will need to replace the mainboard or get a new laptop.

Overheating

The laptop begins to overheat when in use.

Temperature varies between 48 and 52 degree celsius.

Buy some arctic silver paste and use it instead of the cheap thermal pads that come with every Dell laptop and apply it between the CPU and the heat sink.

Slow fan speed

Take the fan out and clean it so that there is no dust on the fan.

Use compressed air to blow out the dust in the fan.

A replacement of the fan may just be the better option.

Water damage

Having trouble with laptop performance after accidental water spills.

Faulty inputs

Water damage can greatly affect the functionality of the laptop. Check for connections between inputs and outputs.

Check for a warranty for a new replacement.

Please do not use a heat lamp, or anything that produces heat, to dry any of your electronics. It can cause more damage.
