Keys are sticky/won’t push down

If keys seem to be sticky or won’t push down all of the way, the keyboard may be dirty and or have something underneath the key. Clean the keyboard first but you may need to remove the key and make sure nothing is stuck underneath it.

USB Won't Connect

USB ports are not recognizing any USB device when inserted into the port. This could be from quickly and repeatedly inserting and removing a USB device and doing so without disconnecting the device through your computer controls first. Also you can prevent this from happening in the future by “Safely removing” the USB from the port instead of pulling it out.

Loose USB port

The USB port may have some “play” in it from constant use meaning, it wiggles around inside the computer and therefore may not be allowing a strong connection to the computer.

Broken USB port

There is something physically broken with the USB port: the USB port is bent inside, not allowing a device to be inserted or something is lodged inside of the USB port. If this is the case, you will need to access the USB port inside your laptop to either clean it or replace it.

Undetected USB device

If nothing physically seems wrong or broken with your USB port, it may be a software issue. First, go to your device manager to see if you have any hardware changes/updates. If so, do so and then restart your computer. Second, you may need to disable and then re-enable the USB controller.

Computer Won't Boot

Computer does not let you log on and brings you to an error message.

Your computer does not load the operating system and instead shows an error screen or error message.

Faulty Hard Drive

If you’re experiencing a slowed down computer, frequent screen freezing or finding your files corrupted; you may have a faulty hard drive. If this is the case, you may need to replace your hard drive.

Full hard drive

If you have a lot of music, pictures, videos and other various types of files saved on your laptop, you may be running out of space and will need to backup your files to be able to free up space on your hard drive.
