Full-color, multi-touch calculator, with wireless connectivity, and rechargeable battery.
Calculator Will Not Power On
The calculator does not turn on or does not respond.
Calculator Is Not Charged
A new fully charged HP Prime should last approximately 25 hours if it is being used continuously, and approximately 48 days in standby. The calculator comes with USB and power supply. Therefore, the first step should plug it in to charge.
Charger Is Faulty
Try charging other device with your charger to verify it works. If the charger does not charge the device, a new charger should be purchased.
Battery Is Faulty
To prove this, plug your calculator using a charger that you know it works. If it does not charge, the battery has to be replaced.
Calculator Is Not Responding
Your calculator is not responding to touch or key inputs.
Calculator Is Frozen
Restart the calculator by removing the back-cover and taking out the battery. Wait 30 seconds and insert the battery back into position. Put the cover back on and turn on the calculator if it is not on already.
Faulty Digitizer
If all attempts have failed and touch screen is still not responding, replace the digitizer.
Physically Damaged Case
The outer calculator casing is cracked or physically damaged.
Cracked Case
If the casing for your calculator shows signs of physical damage such as cracking or warping, it should be replaced using this guide.
Keys Are Not Functioning Properly
Individual or multiple keys will not register input or are physically broken.
Broken Keyboard
No keys will respond or generate input to the calculator. In this case, replace the entire keyboard.
Sticky Keys
Individual or multiple keys cannot be pressed, or are sticking down after pressed generating unwanted input. To remedy this, remove the appropriate assembly of keys (you will notice the keys are all connected in two segments). Once removed carefully observe to ensure nothing is obstructing the keys from the rubber contacts and the sensors underneath. Clean the area if necessary using a clean cloth. Once you are finished, reassemble your keyboard sandwich.
Screen Is Black Or Blue
You are having issues using or seeing content on your screen.
Cracked Screen
If the calculator’s screen was damage or somehow it broke the screen, this could cause some screen issues. In this case, your screen should be replaced.
Faulty Backlight
In order to diagnose a faulty backlight and ensure the device is not dead, you can plug the calculator into the computer to see if it reads or recognize the device. If the computer recognizes the device, we can conclude the device is not dead and the issue may reside in the screen. If this is the case, a new backlight or entirely new screen should be installed.

I just recently bought the hp prime calculator and it only works when it is connected to the charger. Every time I unplug it it turns off. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

Hello,. Bought the HP Prime about a month ago. I had the same problem a week afterwards. Replaced the battery and it worked for awhile but went back to the same state as you described after a couple of weeks. Any ideas?
