GALILEO Beeps but Does Not Start

When you switch on GALILEO, you hear a series of beeps, but GALILEO does not start.

1 Beep

If there is only one beep, GALILEO does not indicate a specific error. Try restarting the ventilator. If the problem persists, there may be a problem with the power supply. To see how to replace the power supply, see the repair page.

2-3 Beeps

Check the 3 V clock battery. If the part must be replaced, it is important to check and reset the correct date and time. More information on this process can be found on page 7-3 in the ++service manual.++

Ensure the memory chip is properly inserted by removing and reseating it into the same slot.

If reseating the memory does not help, the next step is to replace the memory chip with a new chip.

4-11 Beeps

If 4-11 beeps are heard, contact Hamilton Medical and describe the sequence of beeps and be prepared to give information about your devices BIOS.

If the buzzing continues, replace the ribbon cable.

If the buzzing is still happening, replace the GMP assembly

The Loudspeaker Never Gives Alarms

There is no signal either from, or to, the alarm amplifier, or there is no 12 V power to the alarm amplifier.

The loudspeaker is not connected to the control board

Make sure the cable between the loudspeaker and the control board is properly connected.

Nothing Happens When Turning On GALILEO

There is an issue with either the hospital power supply, or the power supply in GALILEO.

The hospital power supply is not working correctly

Verify the hospital power supply is working correctly.

The power supply in GALILEO is not working correctly

Check, and if necessary, replace the fuses in the power supply.

NOTES:

If the battery backup fuse fails, you must ++replace the complete power supply board++.

If the replacement fuse fails after turning on the GALILEO, check for damaged wiring in the column.

Check the power supply, and ensure all cables are connected.
