Motorola Moto G Pure 2021 Touchscreen Unresponsive
This troubleshooting page helps you identify and fix issues when your phone turns on but the the screen is does not respond as expected when touched.
Poor Screen Contact
The Motorola Moto G Pure 2021 utilizes a capacitive touchscreen that relies on conductivity-touch to sense when the screen is being touched. If you are wearing non-conductive gloves, your hands are excessively dirty, or if there is water, dirt, debris, or other contaminations on the screen, the screen might not respond. Ensure your finger tip is clean and dry when touching the screen. If the screen is dirty, use a device cleaning kit to clean the screen. If the phone has a screen protector, or is in a case, try removing the protective cover or the phone from the case.
Software Issues
Software issues that may cause the touchscreen to become non-responsive. Third-part applications may have code errors that cause the phone to freeze up and become non-responsive. Having too many applications running can cause memory or Central Processor Unit (CPU) limitations, resulting in the phone freezing up or responding very slowly. Limiting the number of applications or files open at once can resolve this issue. Start by forcing a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button on the sides of the phone for 20-30 seconds to force a restart. At initial startup, if the screen is still non-responsive other potential software solutions can be found here.
Physical Damage
If the touchscreen or the protective cover is cracked or damaged, it may limit the screens ability to sense your touch. The phone may be non-responsive to your touch or not sense your touch correctly. This can be resolved by replacing the protective cover or the touchscreen of the phone. To replace the glass screen of the Motorola Moto G Pure 2021, follow the instructions in this guide.
