The Nokia 2115i is an entry-level CDMA phone that includes an internal antenna and a speakerphone. Other features include polyphonic ringtones, voice dialing, and voice memo ability. This phone was offered only with MetroPCS and Virgin Moblie.

Note: This troubleshooting page covers all Nokia 2115i phones.

Keypad doesn’t work

The phone's keypad is unresponsive, or just a few buttons do not respond when pushed.

Faulty Keypad

One possibility for a faulty keypad lies in the cone shapes on the back of the keypad that push the appropriate buttons on the motherboard. These cones can fall off or they might not hit the appropriate button on the motherboard because they are misshaped. Solving this problem requires replacing the keypad itself. See the keypad replacement guide for instructions on replacing the keypad.

Faulty Motherboard

It is possible that the buttons on the motherboard are worn out. The only solution is to replace the whole motherboard. See the motherboard replacement guide for instructions on replacing the motherboard.

Battery discharges quickly

The battery dies quickly after being fully charged.

The expected battery life is 4 hours of talk time and 175 hours of standby time. If the battery discharges significantly faster than this, such as after 1 hour of talk time or 15 hours of standby time, the battery is most likely worn out or broken. The only solution is to replace the battery. See the battery replacement guide for instructions on replacing the battery.

Speaker does not work

The phone is not loud enough to hear.

Muted sounds

If no sound is coming from the phone, the volume setting might be set on mute. To take the phone off mute, go to “settings,” then to “profile,” and then select “normal”.

Inaudible speaker

If the volume setting is on normal but the phone is still inaudible, the speaker may not be working. The only solution is to replace the speaker. Since the speaker is built into the screen, replacing the speaker requires replacing the screen and speaker as one piece. See the speaker and screen replacement guides for instructions on replacing the speaker.

Screen shows faint graphics

The graphics on the screen are too faint to see.

Faint graphics

If the screen only faintly shows graphics, the phone's brightness may be set too low. To make the screen brighter, go to “settings,” “phone settings,” and then to “display brightness.” Select a higher setting for the brightness.

Broken screen

It is possible that the screen is worn out or not working correctly. The solution in this case to replace the screen. See the screen replacement guide for instructions on replacing the screen.

Faceplate is broken

The faceplate on the phone is cracked.

Simple accidents like dropping your phone can crack the faceplate. The only solution is to replace the faceplate. See the faceplate replacement guide for instructions on replacing the faceplate.
