DJI Osmo MobileTroubleshooting
This troubleshooting page will help the consumer diagnose and fix issues that may arise with the DJI Osmo Mobile.
Gimbal Function Is Unresponsive
Device will not pitch, roll, yaw, or pivot.
Gimbal Joystick Not Responding To User Input
Test bluetooth connection to device. If connected and the joystick does not produce any movement, the joystick will need to be replaced. (link)
Gimbal Does Not Move Correctly
If the gimbal function does not work at all, check the bluetooth connection. If connected, the electronic aspect of the gimbal may need to be replaced. If the gimbal works but does not move as quickly as it should, thoroughly clean the device and make sure no obstructions are impeding motion.
Buttons Are Unresponsive
You are unable to receive a response from buttons.
Stuck/Broken Trigger Button
If the trigger button is stuck or broken and does not produce any output from the device, the part may need to be replaced or simply repaired.
Stuck/Broken Push Button
If no response is observed when a button is pressed, the button may need to be repaired or replaced. (link)
Unit Is Not Turning On
You are unable to charge or turn on device.
Ensure the battery is dead by testing it using a voltmeter if available, or by checking to see if the device only works when plugged into a charging port. If the battery is dead as confirmed by the above processes, the battery needs to be replaced.
Corroded/Bent/Loose Battery Connectors
If the battery is tested and functions correctly, the issue could be with the battery connectors, and they will need to be replaced.
The sensor that allows your phone to be detected is not working.
Undetected Black Phone/Case
If the phone being used is not detected by the sensor, it could be due to a known issue with the device detecting black phones. Use a white piece of paper to cover the sensor when in use, or switch to a lighter phone case.
Ensure the sensor itself does not function by using different phones to attempt to use the device. If the device does not sense any device, the sensor must be replaced. (link)
Device Is Unable To Connect
Your phone won’t connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
If bluetooth will not connect to phone, consider updating the DJI GO app to the latest software. If the problem continues, replace bluetooth module.
Make sure the phone is connected with Wi-Fi to assure a successful first time activation. If the Wi-Fi isn’t working, try resetting your router, or replacing the Wi-Fi module.
Phone Mount Unable To Hold Phone
The phone mount is unable to hold the phone, or is loose and affects device performance.
Defective Tightening Apparatus
If the clamps are unable to properly hold the phone, check the tightening knob. If the knob does not move or is stuck, remove or replace it. If the knob moves but does not tighten the clamp, ensure the clamps are not obstructed. If the clamps are not obstructed, the knob may be broken and can be repaired or replaced.
If the clamps themselves are broken in some way, remove and replace the clamps that are broken.
