Battery is inserted but grinder won’t turn on
When you turn on the grinder it does not work.
Battery is dead
The first thing you should do is check if the battery is charged. After being used for a long period of time the battery power drains. This problem can easily be fixed by removing the battery from the grinder, and putting it into the battery charger. Once the battery is fully charged remove from it the charger and place it back into the grinder.
Battery is charged but the grinder is not turning on
If the battery is fully charged and the grinder still won’t turn on, your battery may be inserted incorrectly. The battery needs to be flush with the bottom of the handle, and should click into place.
Blade guard is moving while tool is in use
The guard that covers the blade is shaking or moving while the grinder is in use.
The clasp is not clamped down all the way
If you start the tool and the guard starts to shake, shut it off. Before turning the tool back on, make sure that the clasp is fastened down so that it is flush with the circular part on the bottom of the guard.
The Philips head screw is not tight enough
If the guard is still moving while the grinder is in use, your problem may have to do with the screw holding the clasp in place. The screw can be tightened and loosened to adjust the clasp. If the screw does not tighten or loosen then the thread on the clasp may be stripped and you may have to replace the clasp with a new one. Time to replace the Grinder Guard!
Grinder blades will not tighten down properly
When you try to tighten the grinder blades it does not fully tighten.
Disc Flange is not seated properly
It is possible that this piece is on backwards, preventing it from locking onto the spindle. When placing it on make sure that the two flat sides on the spindle are aligned with the two raised lips on the Disc Flange.
Wheel blade is seated but wobbles
The first thing you want to do while tightening the blades is to make sure the spindle lock button is depressed. With the spindle lock depressed make sure that the Clamp Nut is placed on with the flanged end facing outwards, away from the grinder, and be sure to use the wrench to fully tighten the Clamp Nut down.
The spindle lock button will not lock down
When attempting to push the spindle lock button, it does not work.
Dirt around spindle lock button
Before taking apart the grinder and digging through the inside to find the problem, make sure there is no dirt around the button causing it to not work. Use a pin or toothpick to clean away any residue.
The spindle is not in the correct position
Once you have cleaned the spindle lock button, and the button still does not depress, your problem may be that the spindle is not in the correct position. Remove the Clamp Nut and the Disc Flange to expose the Spindle. The Spindle needs to be positioned so that its flat edges are vertical. Once you have re-positioned the Spindle, replace the Clamp Nut and Disc Flange.
Grinder Triggers are “sticking” during operation
While using the grinder, one or both of the triggers begins to ‘stick’ even after being released.
Dirt/ debris is clogging the trigger housing
Always remove the battery before working near the trigger(s). If the trigger(s) are beginning to stick or jam, its best advised to clean the sides of the trigger and housing from the outside using a dry toothpick, paperclip, or pin. If cleaning does not solve the issue, and the trigger continues to function improperly, the spring(s) inside may need to be re-seated or replaced entirely. It’s time to replace the internal spring!
