Is your Shark Clean Sense HP102PET experiencing restricted or diminished air flow? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Filter not removed from plastic bag:
All air purifier components should be out of the bag including the cord, filter, and any plastic covering must be removed before using. Remove the filter from the bag and then install the filter.
Lack of airflow from the unit:
Although the air purifier is designed to function quietly, the fan should still make a low sound that can be heard. If no sound can be heard, the unit's ECO mode is possibly on to extend the filter's life; this could also require you to check AUTO mode. If your unit has been in AUTO mode at 100% clear air for 10 minutes or more, your unit has entered ECO mode to optimize your filter life. The fans are no longer spinning. Try turning up turn up the fan speed to 4 (or MAX).
Discolored or clogged filter:
The filter would most likely be clogged if it looks very discolored. Instead of white, the filter can appear brown, grey, dark grey, or even black; this is a sign of a clogged filter. Simply remove the filter and clean the interior of the air purifier with a microfiber cloth or vacuum to remove dust and debris.
Unusual noise or indications:
There is a chance that the device may start to make loud and unusual sounds, such as stuttering sounds coming from the fan, or it could beep indicating something is wrong with the filter, fan, or electronic system (sensors or even a damaged battery). Turning the device off and on, and then unplugging it could help reset the device.
