Is your ‘UE Boom 2’ companion phone application not reading your device or the application crashes without warning? UE Boom 2 speakers are susceptible to a range of problems that could cause them to fail to work with the ‘UE Boom 2’ application. Check the following possible causes to identify and solve the problem.
If your UE Boom 2 speaker is not pairing with your phone, tablet, or other devices via Bluetooth, see the UE Boom 2 Bluetooth Pairing Is Not Working problem page, instead.
Device is Not Updated
If your ‘UE Boom 2’ application is out of date, it may have trouble connecting from your device to the UE Boom 2 speaker. Make sure you have the most recent version of the application. In some instances, the system may require that the device with the application is also updated to the most recent operating system. For example, if you are using the application on an iPhone 5, make sure that your device has been updated to the most recent iOS.
Too Many Devices are Connected
If you have two devices paired to the speaker and attempt to launch the application on your Android phone, it may crash. The UE Boom 2 speaker can have a maximum of two devices paired to it at once. The speaker will not allow you to connect a third device or override one device with another. So, make sure all other devices are unconnected before trying to reconnect your desired device.
Additionally, your UE Boom 2 cannot have two identically-named devices connected to it at once. Try renaming your phone while in your Bluetooth settings to make sure that there are not two identically-named devices connected to the speaker.
