Joystick Failure

General use of the device may cause lack of effectiveness in the joystick controls.

Mechanical Failure

The joystick of this remote has a very complex, mechanical layout that can cause the joystick to break easily. To identify whether the joystick is having a mechanical or electrical failure try moving the joystick is different directions. If it does not function as expected, it is possible to link the problem to a mechanical failure. The joystick system is made of plastic, which over time will wear out. The easiest way to repair this is to open the remote, remove the joystick module, and replace it with a new one. Another way to repair this is to recreate the worn out part in a 3D printer and replace it in joystick module. In addition, the springs that allow the joystick to coil back into place can become disconnected and corroded. To repair this, disconnect the joystick module, remove the spring, and replace the worn spring with a new one. When complete, reassemble the remote.

Male/Female Terminal Connector Failure

The male terminal connectors can fail due to corrosion over time. The female connector can become damaged due to a snapped/bent pin and/or corrosion over time. To prepare the female connector, lift up the plastic clip on the back and pull out the male connector. To repair the male connector, lift up the metal piece holding the wire in place and pull out the wire. Next, take a new male connector, crimp the wire into place, and attach the male connector back to the female connector.

Wire Disconnected

Joystick malfunction may also be the result of disconnected wires from the connector or the port. To fix this, plug the wire back into the port.

Unresponsive Screen

Due to disconnected cables/wires, the device screen will no longer be working properly.

Reboot System

To successfully reboot the system, unplug the battery, wait ten seconds, and plug it back in. You may also consider charging the device.

Ripped Ribbon Connector

Ribbon connectors can be damaged fairly easily. If a ribbon connector is ripped, the screen will no longer function. To repair this, raise up the plastic piece on the back of the ribbon connector and pull the ribbon out. Slide the new ribbon in and snap the connector back in place.

Unresponsive Camera Switch Button

A broken switch button will cause issues with your camera button.

Switch Malfunction

If the camera switch is not functioning, and there is no audible click, the switch may be damaged. If this is the case, you may have to replace the switch. Before attempting to replace the switch, open the remote and check that the wires are all connected. If the wires are disconnected, reconnecting the wires may solve this issue. If the problem persists, disconnect the wires, and remove the heat shrink and metal casing. Replace the metal casing with a new one, add a new heat shrink, and reconnect the switch. If the switch continues to fail, disconnect both sides and replace the switch with a brand new one.

Distorted Audio

Speaker on device may accumulate liquid or can have its sound turned off

Liquid Damage

When booting up the device, if the standard chime does not play properly, there is a chance the device may have liquid inside the speaker grill. To fix this, simply remove the back panel of the device and check for any visible signs of moisture. If moisture is visible, carefully wipe the affected area with a dry microfiber cloth.

Disable/Re-enable Start-up Sound

For some users, the start-up chime can be inconvenient and may want it disabled. Click here for a video with a simple explanation.

Battery Will Not Charge

Small issues can result in the device battery to not charge properly and then leads to a non-working device.

Battery Failure

If the battery does not charge properly, cut the wires on the battery and replace ''the connector. If the battery continues to fail to charge, replace the battery with a new one of the same voltage and amperage.

Mine transmiter after connect battery starting to buzzing and kinda vibrating, when i turning on i hear short signal and black screen with acompany solid red light. I admit, I connected another 7.4v lipo battery with a similar terminal, but the connection lasted about 2 seconds, now this problem occurs with the original battery, after connecting to a cable without a battery, the situation is identical, it is obvious that the fault lies with me , but is it possible to repair it non-invasively?
