Background
PowerShot A3400 IS, released by Canon at the end of March in 2012, is a digital camera designed to be user friendly. A help button included on the black, red or silver camera gives the user easy access to solving issues. The camera has a 3.0-inch Touch Panel LCD with a scratchproof, dust-repellent, and minimal reflective cover for easy view of the pictures. The Touch Panel allows Touch Shutter that focuses on desired objects and permits the user to adjust settings and modes with their fingers.
Previous Canon IXUS models concentrated on wide range, but shorter-distance focused shots. It has shifted to farther range with a 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom 28mm Wide-Angle Lens.
Identification
One way to tell the difference between the similar model, PowerShot A4000 IS, is to look for the larger zoom, the PowerShot A3400 IS has a slightly smaller zoom, but its 4% lighter weight makes it easier to carry.
