La tablette Amazon Fire a été lancée par Amazon en 2015 et dispose d'un écran tactile de 7 pouces et de capacités d'application. Elle a été conçue pour concurrencer la Kindle Fire HDX 7". Les deux appareils se distinguent par l'emplacement des boutons : ceux de l'Amazon Fire se trouvent sur le dessus de l'appareil et ceux du Kindle à l'arrière.  Le numéro de modèle de la tablette Amazon Fire 5e génération se trouve dans le coin inférieur gauche au dos de l'appareil.
