Background
The Sony TCM-450 is a cassette recorder for daily use. It was released in Japan. A similar device called the Sony TCM-450DV was produced in America and Canada, with the only difference being that the labels are written in English instead of Japanese. This is a series of releases made by Sony starting in 1968.
The Sony TCM-450 and 450DV use a Type 1 cassette. It could play at two different speeds. 2.4 cm/s and 4.8 cm/s. The device uses a voice recording that would only record voices heard but not when it did not hear any voices. The device was made portable to record anywhere needed.
Identification
This model of the Sony TCM-450 is easily identified by its silver color, the Sony label on the front, along with the red letters VOR with the words Cassette-Corder TCM-450 below it in black.
