Logic board LCD connecter broken

Hi guys!

I'm having an issue with a 2010 Macbook Pro not showing anything on the display. At first, when I played with the LCD cable certain areas on the screen would flicker, now I get nothing at all.

After taking a closer look I noticed some of the pins on the logic board are bent and/or missing so I started looking into getting the LCD connecter replaced instead of having to buy a new logic board.

I just cant seem to find anyone having the same issue with this specific model and can't find the part number and/or if its at all even possible to get the LCD connecter/socket re-soldered.

Could anyone point me in the right direction here by letting me know what the part number is? What tools would I need to re-solder this? I have no soldering experience but have nothing to lose at this point. (External display works fine).

Any help you guys can offer is appreciated! Thank you!

anthony, any chance you could get the number of your LCD panel, or any other identifying marks from the LCD? What are the last three digits of your serial number? Once we know which panel it is, we might get the connector number that way.

What I am trying to get at is once we know who makes the actual panel, the connectors can usually be cross referenced. For example, the 13.3" LCD panel could be a LP133WX1 which is made by LG. The connector for that panel is a DF19G-20S-1C connector, widely available at places like ( ) Here is the datasheet for that connector. Also, see if this looks familiar Of course this is a bit of a stretch, but not impossible. The other issue here is the soldering. You most certainly will have to get plenty of practice before you attempt a board level repair. You will also have to have the right tools. May be you can find somebody that has the tools. i.e. TV-Radio electronic repair shop etc. I am not a Mac person, but I hope this helps.
